Following a post-doctoral appointment at University College of North Wales, Dr. Litchfield joined the faculty of Rutgers- The State University of New Jersey. After 10 years, she began work at the DuPont Company and as head of Environmental Toxicology at Haskell Laboratory and then as Senior Scientist for its bioremediation subsidiary. Dr. Litchfield then started her own consulting company and was wooed away to work for Chester Environmental prior to joining George Mason University in 1993.
