PhD student receives Fulbright Award

Ashley Milton, a PhD student in the Department of Environmental Science & Policy, has received a Fulbright award for her dissertation project, “Forest Resilience for Sustaining Livelihoods and Ecosystem Services.”  Her research focuses on how the people in the Democratic Republic of the Congo are affected by deforestation, logging, fuel wood harvesting, and settlement creation.

Milton put together a successful application with the help of her advisor, Dr. Dann Sklarew, associate professor in the Department of Environmental Science & Policy, Graduate Fellowship Director Kathryn Agoston, and her alma mater, Florida A&M University.
