VASG Graduate Research Fellowship Lunch Seminar Event – Jan. 8, 2014

ATTENTION: GRADUATE STUDENTS

Dr. Susan Park,  the Assistant Director for Research, Virginia Sea Grant, at the Virginia Institute of Marine Science at the College of William and Mary will be coming to GMU (Fairfax campus) to meet with students about the 2014-2016 Virginia Sea Grant Graduate Research Fellowship, as well as other upcoming opportunities such as the John A. Knauss Marine Policy Fellowship and the 2014 NMFS—Sea Grant Fellowship Program in Population and Ecosystem Dynamics.

A lunch seminar will be given on January 8, 2014 in Mason Hall, Room D003 A and B  from 11:30 am – 1:00 pm.  Dr. Park will give a brief overview of VA Sea Grant and the fellowship process and take questions.  She will speak more broadly about the proposal process and grantsmanship, as it may be helpful professional development for grad students, even if they are not be in coastal/marine science, to hear from a grant funding agency as they prepare to go off into research careers.

Please RSVP to Sharon Bloomquist at sbloomqu@gmu.edu no later than January 1, 2014.
