Dr. Susan Park, Associate Director, Virginia Sea Grant, at the Virginia Institute of Marine Science at the College of William and Mary will be coming to GMU to meet with students about the Virginia Sea Grant Graduate Research Fellowship and other upcoming opportunities such as the Knauss marine policy fellowship and NMFS-Sea Grant Population Dynamics fellowship. A lunch seminar will be given at on Monday, October 5, 2015 in the Johnson Center, Meeting Room A, from 12-1 pm. Please let me know if you would like a vegetarian option when you RSVP. Dr. Park will give a brief overview of VA Sea Grant and the fellowship process and take questions. She will speak more broadly about the proposal process and grantsmanship, as it may be helpful professional development for grad students, even if they are not be in coastal/marine science, to hear from a granting agency as they prepare to go off into research careers.
Please RSVP to Sharon Bloomquist at sbloomqu@gmu.edu no later than September 18, 2015.
Thank you!
